What can you afford to acquire a customer?

Enter one month's figures. The starting numbers are an illustration, not industry benchmarks.

Calculated on this device. We do not send these figures to a server when you edit them.

Your working result

Expected customers
20.0
Cost per qualified inquiry
$10.00
Cost per customer
$50.00
Contribution after marketing
$2,000.00
Break-even cost per inquiry*
$30.00

Assign every inquiry an owner, track conversion, and compare collected contribution with marketing spend.

*A planning estimate using your inputs. Acquisition break-even excludes overhead and tax. Operating result excludes tax, financing and any unentered costs. Fractional customers are an expected-value calculation.

The handoff saves a draft in this browser for up to 24 hours. Review it in Support before submitting. Tailored Milo support requires a relevant service purchase or the optional annual plan; nothing is charged here.

STEP 1

Start with the job the customer needs done

Describe one buyer, one problem, one service area and one next action. If someone needs an attorney, a clinician or a specific provider login, a business worksheet does not satisfy that search. Write for the business owner only when the owner is your actual customer.

  1. List the last ten genuine inquiries and the words customers used.
  2. Separate ready-to-buy requests from research, support and wrong-fit inquiries.
  3. Publish the scope, expected next step and who your service is for.

Working template

We help [buyer] with [specific problem] in [service area]. Start by [one action]. You will receive [real deliverable]; we will confirm [scope and timing].

STEP 2

Measure acquisition cost, not just clicks

Customer acquisition cost is marketing spend divided by new customers attributable to it. Compare that cost with contribution after the direct cost of delivery. A campaign can generate revenue and still lose money. The free calculator excludes overhead and tax; the pricing guide adds fixed costs.

  1. Record spend, qualified inquiries, customers won and their source for the same period.
  2. Use actual contribution per customer, not the full invoice amount.
  3. Set a lower working acquisition limit than break-even to leave room for overhead and profit.

Working template

Source | Spend | Qualified inquiries | New customers | Revenue collected | Delivery cost | Acquisition cost | Decision

STEP 3

Give every inquiry an owner

A shared inbox is only useful if someone owns the next action. Build one queue for website requests, calls and referrals. In a law practice or other regulated service, administrative staff should route questions to the qualified professional instead of assessing the customer's legal or clinical position.

  1. Record the contact's preferred reply channel, broad need and permission to follow up.
  2. Assign an owner and a realistic response window you can actually meet.
  3. Use statuses: new, contacted, awaiting reply, booked, closed and unsuitable.

Working template

Thanks for contacting [business]. We received your request about [broad topic]. [Owner] will contact you by [realistic time]. Please avoid sending confidential documents until we confirm a suitable secure channel.

STEP 4

Use a short, useful follow-up sequence

Start with an acknowledgement, then a question that helps the customer decide, then a polite close of the loop. Choose timing appropriate to the request. These are templates you can adapt; this page does not send messages or connect your inbox.

  1. First reply: confirm the request and offer the next available step.
  2. Follow-up: answer one likely objection or request one missing detail.
  3. Final check: offer to close the inquiry and respect requests to stop contact.

Working template

Hello [name], following up on your request for [service]. The next step is [booking or detail]. Would you like us to keep this open? If your plans changed, let us know and we will close the inquiry.

STEP 5

Make local discovery accurate and useful

For an eligible local business, keep your own Google Business Profile details and website service information current. Create one helpful explanation of a service you actually provide, including who it suits, scope, evidence and a clear contact route. Do not create location pages for places you do not serve.

  1. Check the business name, hours, contact details and real service area.
  2. Answer a question customers repeatedly ask before buying.
  3. Link from that answer to the matching service and track whether the inquiry is relevant.

Working template

Question: [customer's wording] Direct answer: [plain explanation] Scope: [included / excluded] Evidence: [real example with permission] Next step: [one useful action]

STEP 6

Run a weekly 20-minute review

Review the same small set of numbers each week. Compare lead quality and collected revenue by source before expanding a campaign. Free search traffic takes time and content work; a high estimated CPC does not predict an easy organic ranking.

  1. Close or update every stale inquiry.
  2. Identify the largest drop between inquiry, contact, booking and sale.
  3. Test one change for the next week and record the result before adding another.

Questions before you begin

Is a $100 keyword worth targeting?

Only if the searcher's actual need matches your offer and your economics work. CPC is an advertising estimate, not the value of an organic visit or a promise that a visitor will buy.

Does BIZORYN answer my business phone?

No. This guide builds the intake and callback process. A staffed answering service, telephone integration or external automation subscription is separate.

What should I buy first?

Use the free calculator and checklist first. If inquiries are being dropped, the Client Onboarding System is the closest next step. The annual plan is optional.
